Weeeell, I haven't been very active lately, due to school pressures and my laziness. I'm sorry for that. (As if anyone even reads this...)

My last entry was in the beginning of summer and a lot has happened since. As I wrote last time, I got in to study architecture here in Finland. After a very lazy summer the school started finally the first of September. These past one and a half months seem like two weeks to me, I've been so busy, and not just with studying but also with, krhm, related activities. If you don't understand my meaning, then you don't need to. But I'll just say this: not all I had heard about "teekkarikulttuuri" (not gonna translate that one) is correct but it seems so far that a great deal is.

So, studying architecture now. It's been fun and interesting so far, but I'm still not sure if it's really for me or not. Our first real assignment was to draw an exact drawing of a musical instrument. In my folly I picked a clarinet (because I own one). Ever seen one? Well, if you haven't, I'll just tell you it's quite complicated. Then we had to colour the instrument too. The good thing was that I had much less area to colour than those who picked a guitar. After all the hard work and almost spending nights at school (some people actually did that the night before deadline, I stayed "only" till midnight) the result was great. I like the way I coloured the clarinet (although the work killed my hand). Maybe I will submit a scan of it once I get it home.

Now we're in the middle of our second assignment, the deadline is next Wednesday. It's a group assignment, we have to make a model of an existing building in scale 1:50 in groups of about 5 people. They gave us the buildings, we had to choose from 12 possibilities, and I'm in the group making a model of the Barcelona-pavilion by Mies van der Rohe. It's a very famous building and I've actually been there, don't remember it, though, I was like 5 or something.

At the moment there's a million things I should be doing (all school-related), but here I am, writing and complaining about it in my journal. All the work I should have already done a month ago (because now I don't even remember what I was supposed to do), all the stuff I should read, all the things I'm supposed to do that I just can't remember (because my to-do-list is too long and I haven't even written it down anywhere)... Luckily we have a holiday the week before the next. Only five more days of school, I can handle it.

Maybe I should go do those things and stop whining. See you next time, boys and girls!
